Wanting to meet and honor the Norwegian American pioneers of the Bering Sea and Gulf of Alaska fisheries, Norway’s King Harald V selected Pacific Fishermen Shipyard as the gathering place. Some 100 Norwegian heritage fishermen gathered to greet their king at the most appropriate setting of Pacific Fishermen Shipyard.

Alaskan Bristol Bay king crab provided by Trident Seafoods was featured on the menu along with Ballard Oil style alder smoked Alaskan salmon, cod, pollock and scallops provided by Aleutian Spray Fisheries F/V STARBOUND, Glacier Fish, American Seafoods, Icicle Seafoods and Alaska Weathervane Scallops.

Libations including traditional Aquavit (Water of Life) and Kransekake were furnished by Norwegian heritage companies Gård Vintners, Old Ballard Liquor, Scandinavian Specialties, Work Wear, Inc. and Bad Jimmy’s Brewery.
